Thalyn is a Professional Clinical Counselor Trainee earning her master’s degree through the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. With over twenty-five years of experience as a special education teacher across elementary, middle, and high school settings, she brings deep expertise in supporting children and families. A special needs parent herself, Thalyn understands the importance of empathy, resilience, and creating safe spaces for healing. She is actively involved in her local church community, where faith and service remain central to her life.
Thalyn is especially passionate about working with children, teens, and individuals who have experienced trauma, helping them build resilience, restore hope, and move toward healing. Her clinical interests also include supporting couples, families, and groups in enhancing overall well-being. Thalyn’s therapeutic approaches draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Gestalt Therapy. She believes lasting growth happens within a therapeutic environment that integrates grace, truth, and time, and she values the transformative power of a supportive counseling relationship.
Thalyn is the proud mother of four children ranging from middle school to college age. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, whether hiking, paddle boarding, or walking the beach with her puppy, Lottie Mae. A lifelong learner, she finds joy in reading and research to continually enrich her counseling skills and personal growth.
